Just in case if you are a truly experienced driver troublesome unexpected situation can happen in your way at an instance of life. At that time just to avoid that eminent collision or the danger in front of you, you find yourself jumping straight onto the brake pedal of a car.

This is where the working of the Anti-lock braking system comes into work. It prevents the wheels from getting locked up and helps them to maintain a good grip over the surface.

Now if you are driving an older car or your motor develop certain faults results in stopping the working of ABS, you can still stimulate the system by pressing and releasing the brake pedal repeatedly. In actual practice, it's not possible for a human being to do this as fast as the system does but still it will help you to remain in control.

4. Greatly reduces the possibility of a vehicle skidding.

5. Faster reactions to situations because of completely electronic & computer-controlled.

Disadvantages of ABS:

1. Expensive repairs & high cost of operation.

2. Require regular check-ups & maintenance of sensors, valves and brake fluid.

3. Require complete overhaul on the damage of few parts.

4. A delicate system, easy to harm and damage.

5. Increased stopping distances due to system errors.
