Naviagtion and directioning from the India holy river GANGA, #Part_7
The potential of hydroelectricity of the Ganges and its tributaries is enormous—estimates have ranged from some 51,700 to 128,700 megawatts—of that regarding two-fifths lies among India and also the rest in Nepal. some of that potential has been exploited in India, together with electricity developments on headwater tributaries of the Ganges in Uttarakhand (e.g., the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers), on the higher Yamuna watercourse and its tributaries in Himachal Pradesh, and, farther downstream, within the Ganges basin on the Chambal (a right-bank tributary of the Yamuna) and Rihand rivers. solely a small fraction of Nepal’s hydroelectric generating capability has been exploited.
